At some stage, every one of us has enjoyed either a sausage sandwich, a cool drink or a red frog from the canteen. But did you know without it we could not continue as a club?
Believe it or not, the canteen provides the funds we require to pay umpires, provide first aid support, and help keep player registration fees as low as possible. Without the funds raised registration would need to increase considerably to meet these costs.
Can You Help?!
For this to continue, as well as having parents helping out on weekends to run the canteen and BBQ we also need one or two parents / families to be our canteen coordinator(s). This role helps through ordering stock, opening the canteen on game days and supporting parents during the day in the canteen.
Kate O’Grady has been doing an amazing job in this role but at the end of the year, she is no longer able to continue meaning we need people to step up for season 2017 and beyond. With a few home games to go this year it would be a great opportunity for anyone willing and interested to chat with Kate on game day and get a sense of the work involved – yes, it is a bit of work but it is one of the most important jobs at the club and we, the committee, would encourage & support you and ask you to help us out by taking this role on…why not find a friend or two and share the load?
