The competition season has ended for the year with the usual highs of accomplishment and lows of disappointment that is to be expected in any year of footy but overall 2016 has been a very positive and productive year for our players and the club.
It’s not all over yet!
The Under 11’s and Under 12’s have made it to the Semi-Finals to be played this Sunday which is the result of the fantastic effort the players have put in. The Under 11’s were often short on players up against very strong established competition. The Under 12’s, being in the 1st division, had tough games every week. So these teams have done an outstanding job to make it to the Finals and we can support / cheer them on as they play the semi’s:
- Under 11’s – 11.30am vs Hawkesbury Saints at Memorial Oval, Lancaster St, Ingleburn.
- Under 12’s – 8.30am vs Camden Blues at Greygums Oval, Cranebrook.
Presentation Day / Night
Of course, there is still club Presentation Day / Night events to be held (details in a future post).
Summer Touch AFL
We are also planning a casual Summer Touch AFL training night once a week to keep up the skills and fitness during the off-season which will be open to players and parents alike and have a big focus on FUN (more details in a future post).
This is a short update post to say that competition is over but the club AFL year is not – so don’t run away or hang up the boots – stay tuned, read facebook / website / emails as there is more to come.
Last but not least; A quick and very big “Thank You” to all the players and parents and helpers for putting in the effort to make 2016 a great year!
The players should all be extremely proud of themselves for their hard work, commitment and development gains they have achieved this year. The club couldn’t be more proud or happier with their great effort and attitude towards the game, their team and the club.
To the parents and helpers, without you and our community volunteering, be it in the canteen / bbq, a game official or helping at training, etc, our club literally could not run. And even the small contributions of time/effort from family/friends make a big difference to the club.
