Play AFL in 2019

Playing AFL is not only great fun and a great way to get some exercise; it’s a sport that is inclusive of all players and teaches skills of coordination, teamwork, health & fitness, challenges kids, rewards their efforts and is something the whole family can enjoy being involved in.

Throughout the season, there are games, activities and special events for the kids to participate in as well as special offers, club events and 1st-grade matches (such as the GWS Giants / Sydney Swans) so that everyone can have fun. And the Juniors AFL footy season starts in late March, early April each year until about August.

So no matter the age, 5 or 50, the Blue Mountains Kangaroos Junior AFL Club (bmkafl) can help you & your kids enjoy playing AFL.

BMKAFL offers kids and young men/women age 5 to 17 to play AFL with the club.

We are part of the ‘Greater Sydney Juniors‘ Western division.

Auskick

For younger children age 4 up there is a dedicated “Auskick” competition that is specially designed to teach kids that are young &/or new to AFL the skills of the game in a non-contact environment of modified rules to ensure safety, instil confidence and maximise the fun.

Auskick is played on Sunday mornings (approx. 8.30am – 10am) at Tom Hunter Park, Faulconbridge NSW in beautiful the Lower Blue Mountains. Usually, there are a couple of ‘Auskick gala days’ during the season  as well as the chance for a kick-around at halftime of a 1st-grade AFL match (e.g. GWS Giants / Sydney Swans).

There is no training mid-week for Auskickers just fun on Sunday morning.

All Auskick kids get a bag of goodies (inc. footy) from the AFL when they register.

Registration cost for the whole season is $100 – Active Kids voucher can be used.
